Leading dietary company located in North San Diego County seeking an experienced Food Development Coordinator. This position will be responsible for coordinating the food repackaging initiative for existing food products to align with new artwork design.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years job-related experience within food manufacturing organization
• Requires knowledge of the weight loss industry, consumer packaged goods, nutritional and exercise physiology principles
• Must have excellent organization skills as you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and organizing many documentation for each product
• Maintain Databases that reflect redesign product information.
• Develop and maintain all collateral material related to new food ingredients, allergens and nutrition as required assisting field and corporate operations.
• Coordinate with co-manufacturer’s Regulatory departments to insure co-manufacturers are editing regulated features of primary food packaging artwork so that it complies with applicable labeling laws.
• Ensure that all non-regulated features on packaging artwork reflect Product Development & Program Development requirements/objectives.
• Experience in obtaining USDA & CFIA approvals for new food products
• Work closely with Product Development, Program Development, Co-manufacturers, Printers, and the specified design agency on packaging development.
• B.A. or B.S. degree in food science, nutrition, food regulatory strongly desired
