North County Lifeline is a non-profit human services organization whose mission is to build relationships in North County and deliver services to children, families, and individuals that resolve problems, increase skills, and nurture self-reliance. We have an immediate opening for a part-time Mental Health Clinician to work with youth who are Medi-Cal eligible. Please see the job description below.

MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL

General Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Services, and using a wide variety of counseling modalities, Mental Health Professionals exercise sound judgment in the treatment of children, youth, families, individuals and groups. The professional is expected to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team, while making appropriate independent decisions for the benefit of the client(s). The counselor works in a culturally sensitive manner and abides by the legal and ethical standards of the profession.

Specific Activities
• Ability to provide Mental health assessments
 Ability to develop and implement Treatment plan
 Provide Case conferencing in coordination with other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, IEP coordinators, schools, etc.
 Meet minimal productivity and caseload standards dictated by the contract
 Participate in the UR committee
 Responsible for distributing and collecting CAMS, FCBS and YSS
 Participation in quality assurance review boards and complete necessary compliance issues.
 Provide individual, couple and family face-to-face counseling utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, with a family systems, solution focused, and strength base approach.
 Facilitation of group counseling.
 Provision of outreach services.
 Collaboration with law enforcement, schools, other mental health agencies and other community based agencies.
 Maintain Administrative duties, including contract compliance.
 Develops professional relationships with referral sources.
 Participates in wraparound treatment planning, implementation and collaborations.
 Comply with all documentation requirements dictated by contract.
 Provision of all services in a culturally sensitive manner.
 Attends all program-appropriate meetings.
 Program-specific fiscal responsibilities, including Medi-cal billing
 Attend required Continuing Education and Contract Requirements
 Completes all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Must possess the ability to make sound clinical decisions independently. Must be able to apply clinical judgment, ethics and accountability to formulate and implement treatment plans and other clinical documentation. Demonstrates the ability to handle stressful and crisis situations tactfully and appropriately. Strictly adheres to the principles and practices of the counseling profession as elucidated by modalities, and to exercise discretion and independent judgment in all areas of job performance including adherence to appropriate professional boundaries. Holds a Maters degree in counseling, social work or related field, and Masters-level training in child abuse and all other protective issues. License or license-eligible preferred. Training in and mastery of family systems theory and application of diagnostic criteria from the DSM-IV and EVB Practices. Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, including but not limited to conflict management skills and inter and intra-agency collaborative skills. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Some off-site counseling may require own transportation. EOE

Salary
Part-time, 20 hours/week; salaried/exempt position. $18.26 - $20.09 per hour to start, DOE. Bilingual (Spanish) compensation added for eligible candidates. Benefits package according to Lifeline personnel policies. EOE.
