I am currently in the process of restructuring our preschool setup in order to implement a 100% language immersion program which will start on the first week of September.
I have decided to offer services comparable to the French-American preschool in La Jolla in order to cater to North county families who understand the benefits of bilingualism for young children but would rather avoid a commute to Mount Soledad and would like a more home-like environment for their child prior to transitioning to a "real" school setting:
We are conveniently located for families living anywhere between Carlsbad and Carmel Valley, I hold the same teaching credentials as the San Diego French-American School instructors, offer a smaller child/teacher ratio, and tuition will be approximately 30% less.
I will be following the same schoolyear calendar (Major Holidays off, weeks off for Christmas, Easter, etc.), though 3 weeks longer (1st week of September to Independence Day), and our weekly schedule will be 8:45am to 2:15pm daily. Early drop-off (7:30am) and late pick-up (3:30pm) will be options offered on a case-by-case basis.
There will be 2 enrollment options:
1. Mon-Wed-Fri.
2. Tue-Thu.
Depending on the level of interest in a 5-day/week program, I may make that third schedule option available prior to the start of the schoolyear.
Tuition rate options are:
-$5750/year for Schedule option #1 and $4000/year for schedule option #2, meaning $575 & $400/month respectively paid from September to June with annual commitment after the first month of enrollment ("trial period").
-Month-to-month enrollment option (no annual commitment) will be $650 for schedule option #1 and $475 for schedule option #2. Disenrollment requires a 30-day notice.
NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF OR EXPOSURE TO FRENCH IS REQUIRED.
****I am still in the process of remodeling our setup, upgrading equipment, etc. I plan on scheduling tours of the facility starting July 28.
This posting is an opportunity for parents to express interest in the program, make suggestions, inquire about my references, ask questions, schedule a visit of our home facility ahead of time, and thus get priority placement in the tentative candidate pool I will be creating prior to interviewing families and composing my 2 classes for the 2 different schedule options.****
my goal is to create a safe, fun, nurturing (though humble) home away from home for every child.
The children learn French through natural exposure, as well as through songs and various theme-based activities.
I also place an emphasis on good manners, compassion, home & stranger safety, and kindergarten-readiness skills such as self-help, writing one's name, scissor use, following 2-step directions, gross-motor skills, etc.
We dance, laugh, go on bug hunts, do obstacle courses, read and make up stories, laugh again,
cook, sculpt, paint, play pretend, do cartwheels... and then laugh some more!
I use music (guitar, piano), magic tricks, ventriloquism and more as fun tools for engaging the children.

I will watch NO MORE THAN 6 CHILDREN per day to give them all the one-on-one attention they need
as well as to preserve the reassuring home-like feel of our preschool setup.
