The DIVA-2000 Wireless Local Loop is a fully integrated digital cellular radio communications system designed to provide basic telephone service to residential and small business subscribers in fixed locations. Operating in the 800 MHz band (824-849/869-894 MHz), the DIVA-2000 can be deployed to create a high-capacity macrocellular network connecting its subscribers to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) directly through the local exchange.

Four major system elements constitute the DIVA-2000:

The System Management Software (SMS) provides centralized control and monitoring of a DIVA-2000 network, including the functions of configuration, fault, and performance management.
The Radio/Switch Controller (RSC) directly links the DIVA-2000 subscribers to
the local exchange of the PSTN and supports call traffic throughout a DIVA-2000 network.

The Modular Base Station (MBS) supports the radio interface to the DIVA-2000 subscribers, where multiple MBS�s are deployed at one or more DIVA-2000 base station sites define the wireless network�s coverage and capacity.

The Subscriber Unit (SU) offers a standard telephone line interface to the subscriber and provides wireless connectivity via the DIVA-2000 to the PSTN.

These system elements may be deployed as needed to support the coverage and capacity requirements for a specific application.

All DIVA-2000 SU�s within range of the base station sites can receive service. The range depends on many variables, including the base station antenna height and the local propagation characteristics, but, in rural environments, ranges of approximately 20 kilometers or more are possible.

The DIVA-2000 operates in the 800 MHz band, using the same transmit and receive frequencies as Advanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS) analog cellular networks deployed throughout the world. Operation of the DIVA-2000 in the 800 MHz band allows its deployment in regions where these frequencies are unused or under-utilized. For example, a region may use NMT, TACS, or ETACS analog cellular networks that operate outside the 800 MHz band. Even if an AMPS network is in place, the DIVA-2000 used the same channel assignments as AMPS and can co-exist and share the 800MHz band with operating AMPS networks if the spectrum is under-utilized, especially in areas outside high-density urban centers. Alternatively, a region may employ or plan to employ newer digital cellular technologies such as GSM that operate outside the 800 MHz band, possibly migrating existing AMPS mobile users in the 800 MHz band to the new frequencies and thereby freeing spectrum resources to support fixed subscribers.

For the subscriber, the DIVA-2000 offers:

A standard telephone interface the allows as many as five standard telephones to be connected as extensions. The DIVA-2000 SU can thus be located to provide the best reception, with internal phone lines routed on-site as is most convenient.

High voice quality as furnished by the digital speech compression algorithm used in the DIVA-2000. Digital transmission further implies that the voice connection is not subject to the noise or audible fading that can characterize analog wireless links.

Battery backup, providing telephone service even during power black-outs. In emerging markets, this capability may be a necessity due to the uncertain quality of the power system infrastructure.

I am selling a brand new never been used Samsung SCH-U340. Like I said the phone is brand new and the box is
still factory sealed. The phone comes with a new lithium ion battery & a new home charger. This is a very good
phone. No Bluetooth, but it has a Camera. This is a good phone if you don't feel like spending a lot and don't
want to sign a new 1 year or 2 year contract.

Product Features:
The phone is compact (3.5 inches by 1.8 inches by 0.8 inch) and lightweight (2.8 ounces), and it has a comfortable feel
in the hand. Blue color scheme, and the front flap opens and closes with authority. The postage stamp (96x96 pixels)
external display shows the date, time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID.The screen is monochrome so it
doesn't support photo caller ID but it does act as a rudimentary viewfinder for the camera. Speaking of which, the lens
sits just above the display sans a flash while the battery charger port sits on the phone's bottom end. The left spine
holds a volume rocker and a covered headset jack and the left spine has a camera shutter and a speakerphone control.

The SCH-U340's internal display measures two inches (128x160 pixels) and supports 65,000 colors. The SCH-U340 uses a
basic Samsung menu interface (available in two styles), rather than Verizon's clunky design. You can change the backlight
time, the contrast, and the font style and color. The navigation array has a standard Samsung design with a square toggle,
a central OK button, two soft keys, a clear button, and the Talk and End/power buttons. The controls are easy to understand
and are a decent size for the phone's size. You can set the toggle to act as a shortcut to four user-defined functions.
The keypad buttons are raised slightly above the surface of the phone and have large backlit numbers. We also like that
there's some separation between the individual buttons.

The SCH-U340 has a 500-contact phone book with room in each entry for five phone numbers and two e-mail addresses. You
can save callers to a group and pair them with one of nine, 32-chord polyphonic ringtones. Other features consist of a
vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, voice command and dialing, a calculator, a calendar, an alarm clock, a world
clock, a notepad, and instant messaging.
