Transportation Admin/Analyst
Description
• Liaison with SLA finance group, carriers and transportation group on freight bill audits and issue resolution.
• Work closely with freight payment auditors (truckload and parcel) to review and strengthen audit protocols and identify issues with auditors.
• Investigate and resolve carrier billing issues and work with carriers to resolve slow / late payment issues between A/P, freight payment auditors and carriers.
• Provide rate / lane Analysis based on Business Objects reporting to analyze proposed carrier rates or lane pricing in support of marketing groups
• Manually code freight bills that are rejected by the Freight Auditor or do not match the audit file;
• Investigate and determine the root cause of freight bills excluded from the audit files.
• Be responsible for managing and assisting with monthly summaries, compiling accurate data captured from carriers, customers and warehouses;
• Undertake other operational and office management responsibilities as may be necessary.
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Access, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in running reports in Business Objects and Crystal Reports
• The communication skills necessary to develop positive working relationships with individuals with differing personalities and at various levels of management.
• The ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week as may be needed and to manage the complexities and stress commonly associated with a fast-paced work environment and to balance the responsibilities of pursuing multiple tasks on an every-day basis.
• The acumen to make appropriate decisions, adapt to changing work situations and grasp and apply new ideas.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
In addition, it is preferred that the successful candidate possesses:
• Experience using payment audit and/or data retrieval systems including SMAPS and Oracle.
• General logistics and/or transportation industry experience.
• Knowledge of standard warehouse and transportation operational processes including a general understanding of freight contracts, tariffs, expenditures and forecasting practices.
This is a one year contract.
