Title: Mental Health Worker
Responsibilities:
Alpine Special Treatment Center, Inc. is a rehabilitation center for the mentally ill. We are a 99-bed facility located in Alpine, Ca. Our clients have chronic mental illnesses. This position has direct client care responsibilities accounting for the majority of daily duties. Direct client care includes assisting clients with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming as well as reinforcing coping and socialization skills. The Mental Health Worker is a key staff member who helps to provide a safe and effective treatment environment for chronic mentally ill clients.
QUALITY 10%
Monitors the safety & security of the treatment environment and takes necessary action for client safety
Reports changes in client physical conditions to the lead nurse and behavioral issues to the lead program staff for assessment and intervention/prevention as necessary
Maintains client dignity and respect throughout the treatment process by practicing the client centered philosophy
Will maintain professional communication with peers and supervisors at all times
CLINICAL CARE 80%
Responsible for conducting scheduled client programming and recreational activities
Monitors client programming & recreational activities to assist client participation and achieve effective outcomes.
Assists clients with Activities of Daily Living as needed.
Takes and records vital signs as directed.
Checks clients for medication compliance during medication passes (watching for palming, pocketing, and cheeking.)
Assists with the admission, transfer, and discharge of clients as assigned.
Transporting clients (if licensed to) from various community activities.
Have working knowledge of all clients treatment interventions and are able to follow them with support from management
Ensure at all times that clients are cared for safely and with dignity
DOCUMENTATION 10%
Responsible for all shift documentation including dailies.
Writes legibly and coherently
Can properly execute behavioral and incident reporting.
Qualifications
Valid Driver License and clean driving record
CURRENT CPR Certification
Bachelors degree in Psychology or related field
OR
6 years experience working in mental health environment

This is a full-time position. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week. Work 40 hours a week while having 3 days off!!! Salary Range $12-$15/hour based on education and experience.
