Senior Technical Writer with Marketing & Communications Experience
This project is for two months starting immediately.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Technical Writer is responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for the organizations Communications and Marketing Plan. This plan is for a department of the Military. The job is located in San Diego, CA. This person must have excellent research skills, must be able to organize their ideas and be able to translate technical terms into text that any reader can understand
A significant amount of detailed information will gathered, analyzed, and readied for publication and on-line training. The tools and metrics used in this process will be incorporated in the overall Communications and Marketing Plan
This person will meet with the Executive leaders and their constituents, and sit in on meetings capturing data and then facilitating the analysis and eventual dissemination of intended message.
The Senior Technical writer is expected to write a variety of technical reports and manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses and will be responsible for coordinating graphics and production of preliminary and final document deliverables.
Job Requirements:
- Current Security Clearance is a plus and must be a United States Citizen.
-Minimum 5 years experience in a technical writing role.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience may have been gained through a combination of formal training and professional experience
- Thorough understanding of Military Programs
- Proven ability to effectively interface with Naval Senior/Executive Leadership and must be flexible and have the ability to interact with all levels in the organization
-Past experience developing Enterprise level documents & publications
- Highly organized, detail oriented with excellent follow through skills and ability to prioritize. Must have demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines.
- A sample of work must be presented at interview
- Develop new documents and drawings using MS Word, MS Excel, Author IT, Corel Draw, Framemaker, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, MS PowerPoint, Visio, Paint Shop Pro or other software products as required. Documents include user's manuals, system design documents, and user requirements documents. Provide quality assurance review for all materials ensuring proper grammar, formatting, spelling and accuracy of information.
