Position 2: Imani Lee is in need of additional translators. Specific and required language needs include – Japanese, Georgian, Urdu, Brahvi, Vietnamese, Dari, Hindi, Pashto, Gujarati, and Sub-Saharan African languages.
- If you are fluent (read, write and speak) in one of these languages and also understand and write English – you are well on your way to a career as a translator. Internships are also available.
- Translators will be responsible for translating professional materials, such as technology, science, marketing, product introduction. Prior translation experience is highly preferred.
- Translators will also use a "Style Guide" to ensure compliance for all work projects. Translators will be tested and trained to ensure compliance with the Style Guide.
- Translators may also be responsible for translating written test into the English or one of the languages set forth above. Translators must be responsible, have the ability to meet deadlines, professional , have strong attention to detail and enjoy translation work.
- Translators should have a world view and be up-to-date on current global events. It is helpful if you have a good understanding of the Middle East, Baltic countries, African, Asian and European cultural, political and territorial issues.
- Translators must be computer literate, own a functional computer and high-speed Internet access. All files we be delivered via email. Most files are in the Microsoft Word format and all editing is done in this format. For spell checking and research, the translator will need to be capable of performing credible internet searches and use an on-line dictionary and thesaurus. MS PowerPoint/Graphics skills are a plus since some files are in the MS PowerPoint format.
- Translators must be U.S. citizen’s to work on some Government projects. Some projects can be performed by non-US Citizens. Please specify in your cover letter if you are a U.S. Citizen or not.
- Translators will primarily work remotely and only need to come to the office when directed or requested.
- Translators should have a minimum of two years of college.
- Translators will be 1099 contractors of Imani Lee, Inc.
