Profession:
Internet Marketer, Speaker, Consultant

Why I need help:
I am growing a new business that has unlimited upside and potential. I am very good at coaching and speaking, but am not good with details and the day-to-day running of operations surrounding this business.

I know I can find someone who will love to focus on the daily maintenance and details associated with running and helping me grow this business.
Here are some of the tasks you’d do on a daily basis:
•	Managing multiple online shopping carts
•	Customer follow-up (thanking them, asking questions)
•	Contacting customers with failed credit card transactions and either running them manually or asking them to try again
•	Checking multiple e-mail support accounts and handling support requests
•	Managing an online customer service center
•	Basic web publishing, making edits / changes to web pages.
•	Interfacing job requests and outsourcing work to vendors. Managing and coordinating updates & services for multiple clients.
•	Writing basic marketing copy based on existing sales letters
•	Coordinating with web / graphic designers
•	Editing
•	General copywriting
•	Responding to e-mails
•	Creating accounts on various services (like user IDs, passwords, etc.)
•	Booking speaking engagements
•	Managing outsourcing projects
Hours required:
•	20-30 per week, could develop into a full-time position
Time required for availability:
•	9:00 am – 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time
•	Some check-in needed during weekends to check for emergency support issues (online businesses do not “stand still” on weekends – you will not be required to work on Sunday - ever)
•	Some flexibility as long as you’re responsive and get your work done

Primary Qualities Desired in a Virtual Assistant:

1.	Know how to “think” and make pragmatic decisions. If you’re just an order-taker, and need constant direction or supervision, this is NOT the right job for you. You will need to be able to make decisions in my absence.

2.	Is responsible - shows up on time and keeps me informed

3.	Must be willing to keep their eyes on the business (especially in the event of emergencies or customer service issues). Note: I am often gone for weeks at a time, and often don’t check e-mail or phones for a week to 10 days. I need someone who I can trust and can make decisions in my absence.

4.	Is absolutely dedicated and committed to learning new skills and constantly wants to improve their life.

5.	You absolutely, positively MUST NOT BE A FLAKE. If you EVER just disappear without an explanation or simply don’t show up without informing me, that will immediately terminate our relationship

6.	Good news is best. Bad news is fine. No news is NEVER OK. I need to know what’s going on

7.	Consistency. Your ability to create workflows and schedule yourself to perform specific consistent tasks consistently is critical to our success

8.	Replication. Your value to me increases if you are able to identify workflows that can be done by someone else, be able to create a documented workflow and find someone to accomplish those tasks so you can work on other tasks and projects that are more important, more critical and have higher value. Your ability to “work yourself out of one job and into another” will affect our long-term relationship and your income

9.	Detail-oriented and note-taker. You ABSOLUTELY are a note-taker. If you find yourself asking the same question more than once or can’t find your notes, you’re not the right person for this job. I expect to tell you something once and for you to handle it from there.

My Goals:
I launch several businesses per year and personally coach approximately 100-200 business owners every year. I need someone who can think on their feet and keep everything & everyone organized.

Things and Software You Need and Need to Work With Me
1.	A high-quality computer that’s fast and works properly. I don’t want to hear excuses about an old computer, a machine that crashes frequently or isn’t running the most recent operating system. If you aren’t running on a quality system, don’t bother responding to this ad

2.	A reliable high-speed internet connection (cable modem or DSL)

3.	You need to be an “expert browser user” and know how to navigate the web and find information quickly. Google is your best friend

4.	Have used online web-based software applications. I have my own web based software which you will use as well as several online shopping carts.

5.	You must be proficient and ideally, an expert at Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

6.	Ideally, you web design experience and are proficient at either Microsoft Front Page, Dreamweaver, or Expression Web. Basic HTML experience highly desirable, but not required. If you do, Dreamweaver (PHP) experience is a big plus

7.	Knowledge of how to upload and manage files on a server with FTP is important
Web-Based Tools, Services and Systems I Use

•	Infusionsoft
•	1ShoppingCart
•	Search engine tools
•	Online marketing systems
•	Google AdWords

Many more, I develop web-based applications and software.

My Work Style
I get a lot done and leave a wake behind. I appear chaotic due to the fact that there are many things going on at once. I am never, ever caught up and I'm good at "dumping" lots of tasks on someone and I have a "hands off" approach to management. In other words, if you are consistent and a self-starter, you’ll do just fine. If I need to constantly ask you “is this done yet?”, we won’t last long together.

Web Coder/HTML Developer/Web Master (San Diego)

Web Coder/HTML Developer/Web Master - Part to Full Time, Flex Hours, Work from Home

If you are organized, positive and a responsible web “guru”, this might be the most exciting opportunity you’ve ever come across. Work with a fun organization making a difference in the lives of business owners around the world, all from your own home office!

Online business Web service based in San Diego needs a work from home adult with experience, intelligence and maturity to:

•	Quickly and accurately put together websites and blogs
•	Work intimately with our multiple online shopping cart systems… setting up autoresponder sequences, back-end integrations and API tie-in’s
•	Respond promptly to requests from internal personnel and some partners/outside personnel

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: To ensure quick turnaround time on quality website pages that are written in clean efficient code. Support the entire organization with quick and thorough website design. Ensure up to date project plans are done for each project and communicate regularly to all parties via email, webinars and phone calls.

Adaptability and flexibility are very important. This position requires the ability to scale your work during “crunch times” when we are under deadlines and the ability to “work until the job is done” (this means you need to be outcome focused instead of hours focused).

There will also be “downtimes” when we are less busy. During these downtimes you will have time to work on tweaking and improving our current websites.

We are deadline driven and we need to sometimes have pages that work in a matter of days “under load” with thousands of hits. So an understanding of performance issues is key!

You need to be able to predict what you will need and when you will be able to be done by scoping out projects as accurately as possible before beginning (see example project below).

Ability to work autonomously with what you have and making judgment calls as needed.

REPORT TO: The Joint Venture Manager directly (and other executive staff).

You must have your own FAST computer (no more than two years old), reliable high-speed Internet access and a telephone.

Required Skills:
(please don’t apply if you don’t meet all required skills)

•	Must be extremely organized and diligent. You will be coordinating with many different people at the same time and so you must thrive on a fast-paced, fun environment and be a very detail-oriented note-taker.
•	You must be able to take direction and “make it happen” without the need to be micro-managed every step along the way.
•	You must be able to learn new software quickly, you must be proficient and ideally, an expert in HTML, Wordpress, CSS, Joomlah, PHP and Javascript (before an interview, you will be tested on all of these so please only respond if you are comfortable with all of them).
•	You will be making sales pages with banners on the top and bottom of the pages. You need to be able to do basic Photoshop from templates, make sure pages are small and efficient and open up quickly across with cross-platform browser support.

•	Streaming video is important for our business so ideally you have experience with FLV, YouTube, and customized video players (we have video editors on-staff so you will not be editing video).

•	Experience creating a large number of sites, quickly and the ability to re-use existing code and things you’ve already done to shorten the development lifecycle is a must to help quick turnaround times.
•	You need to have some experience with direct-response marketing website and understand such concepts as squeeze/lead pages, opt-in boxes, sales pages, thank-you pages, etc.
•	You need to be committed to learning new skills.
•	You should understand what sales pages look like and how they are set up – understanding that beauty is of second importance and that functionality is always the first priority.
•	Experience with using online shopping carts and CRM Systems is important – these types of systems include Salesforce.com, AWeber, InfusionCRM, 1ShoppingCart, Send Pepper, etc.
•	You must be able to type at least 50 wpm.
•	You must be able to write clearly and quickly.
•	You should be systems-friendly and be someone who thrives on organized systems.
•	Great attitude is a must. You will be dealing with internal team members and our partnership network. In short, you should be a fast, and efficient technical person.

Nice-to-have Skills:
(having any of these will allow you to get up to speed faster. NOTE: We will train you if you don’t have all of these)

•	Experience using Google Documents and Smartsheets.
•	Experience creating screen capture videos using software like Camtasia (PC) or Screenflow (Mac).

Other important ‘nice-to-have’ qualities:

•	A pleasant speaking voice (both for phone conversations and recording videos)
•	Entertaining personality. We all have fun and want others who will fit into our culture. We get a lot done but have fun doing it.
•	A love for technology. This position is truly on the cutting edge and if you thrive on reading Wired Magazine and learning the latest new Ajax techniques, this might be a perfect position for you.
•	Enthusiastic, Reliable and Self-Sufficient.
•	Self-starter – ready to take responsibility for the success of the program. You need to be an “A Player” who does what it takes to get the job done.
•	Even-tempered / no ‘attitude’ / willing to help beyond a job description and do whatever it takes.
•	Outstanding listener, pays attention to details and takes notes when meeting others.

If chosen, a typical project might be:

•	You would receive an online video/phone call explaining the type of sales page that needs to be created, a Word Doc with the text of the page, and two sample pages on which to base the general look and feel upon. It may also include instructions on where to obtain video testimonials to work into the page as well.
•	You will then need to scope out the project and give an estimated time to version 1 completion based on your current workload and priority list.

•	You will then create the page, FTP it to the live site, coordinate with other personnel on the domain and re-directing the domain, get the code from the shopping cart for the opt-in page and the ‘order now’ code for the sales letter.

•	You would communicate in our tracking system and with multiple people the status, taking phone calls or reviewing online video reviews of the site to update and tweak it before going live.

Work location:

•	Your home or office (occasional on-site meetings at our offices in University City or at Starbucks)
•	Anticipated 20-30 hours per week initially, growing into full-time.
•	This job offers flexibility for stay-at-home moms or dads who need a flexible schedule working from home.
SMOKERS, DRUG-USERS, WHINERS, COMPLAINERS AND MALCONTENTS NEED NOT APPLY.
We will perform a complete background check and will call multiple references you provide.

Starting pay is commensurate with experience and expertise in the specific skill sets cited above.
