Heavy Equipment Mechanic with the following qualifications:
Preferred 6 years recent experience repairing motorized equipment as a journeyman mechanic. Repairs/adjusts engines, brakes, ignitions, etc.; removes/replaces defective parts/systems, i.e., alternators, water pumps and batteries; overhauls major systems; conducts routine maintenance; documents all repairs; performs repair work on frames, chassis and bodies of vehicles; builds special equipment; operates buses, vans, and heavy equipment; welding ability; ability to lift up to 100 lbs.; valid California driver's license, a good driver's record that allows insurability under the District's insurance program.
