Senior Database Administrator will work within the database team and will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the database architecture and infrastructure, which supports our business enterprise systems. The Team is currently using SQL Server 2000/2005.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze database needs and develop strategy (data storage, high availability, disaster recovery).
Managing devices and databases, administering security, monitoring servers and performance tuning
Performing data backup, recovery and transfer operations
Documenting systems and processes
Providing rotating support
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to be effective at all levels of the organization
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner
Proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
Good time management skills and able to shift priorities
Ability to adjust in a fast-paced environment
Must be a team player and able to multi-task
Highly organized and attention to detail
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (INCLUDING CERTIFICATIONS):
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required
Minimum of 5-6 years experience in Transact-SQL (SQL Server 2000 or Sybase) development
2- 4 + years experience with the design, implementation, and support of High Availability architecture (database clusters / mirroring)
2- 4 + years experience with the design, implementation, and support of Disaster Recovery strategies
0-1+ years experience Microsoft .NET (development (using C#) is preferred but not required
