PHP Software Developer with Soc Net experience
We are seeking a talented freelancer who is available immediately for an initial one-month contract which may be extended based on results. We are NOT looking for a candidate that is between jobs and looking to fill a gap in their Resume, so be prepared to show some evidence that you are a full time freelancer/consultant. The candidate MUST reside in San Diego, be able to work full time on this project and be available for in-person meetings.
The job offered entails customizing the elgg (
http://elgg.org) platform for a specific requirement, this may involve customizing the actual base code or creating plugin modules for the platform. The candidate will be required to attend initial meetings where we spec out what's required and create milestones. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate they have worked with Elgg and participated in its community, or have developed other social media applications. Also experience with VoIP protocols (H.323 & SIP) is desirable but not strictly necessary.
You will have the opportunity to work from home some days but will be required to travel to the office several times a week for meetings (located in North Park)
The ideal candidate has thorough knowledge of PHP5, OO constructs and SQL. They have a solid experience in configuring and deploying LAMP. They have a portfolio of work that can be seen on the web. Candidates with additional experience with any or all of the following are desirable: EC2, JQuery, CSS, SOAP, REST, Web Security, Zend Framework, Agile.
Finally the candidate will have excellent spoken and written English, will be on time for meetings and has a proven track record for creative solutions.
