Position: Sr. Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly talented individual to join our dedicated web studio for our massively multiplayer online games. This is an exciting position where you will be initially in charge of our current Free Realms™ website (www.freerealms.com) and will participate in the development of the web site for our next major game.

Primary Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the architecture and the implementation of our web sites/services that interface closely with our MMO infrastructure. Your primarily focus will be on scalability, the solution you will be designing will need to be able to handle a high traffic on a large dataset while guaranteeing minimal response time.
Requirements:
• BS degree in computer science with 5+ years of programming experience in Java or MS degree in computer science with 3+ years of programming experience in Java
• Experience with a Java Servlet Container or an Application Server (Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, Websphere, etc…)
• Dynamic, high-load web development experience and knowledge of the usual caching patterns associated with it… (Memcached, ehcache, etc…)
• Working experience SQL to be able to define schema and request that should scale.
• Familiarity with Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Velocity/Freemarker, Eclipse, Tomcat, Maven/ant and other common web open source technologies are a plus
• Experience developing applications on Unix/Linux based platforms.
• Experience using source control and bug tracking systems in a team environment
Additional Attributes:
• Experience in full life-cycle software development.
• Experience in object-oriented analysis and design.
• Experience building scalable systems with high levels of concurrency and transactions.
• Web UI development experience (HTML, JavaScript, css, AJAX,…) is a plus but not mandatory
