Senior Application Security Engineer
San Diego, CA
Senior Application Security Engineer is a key member of the Information Security team at Sony Media Software & Services (SMSS). The engineer will primarily be responsible for assisting in the planning, designing, and implementation of the Application Security program across all SMSS groups. This is a hands on position that requires someone who has had a great deal of application development and coding experience together with a very deep understanding of Information Security and Secure Coding principles.
Responsibilities include:
• Implementing the Application Security program through collaboration with all SMSS development teams.
• Development of secure coding policies, procedures and standards, modification of the SDLC to include the necessary Security Checkpoints, code review methodologies etc.
• Perform threat modeling on existing as well as new software projects
• Evaluates new security technology & trends, makes recommendations to
strengthen our application security environment.
• Evaluates application development and implementation activities for possible vulnerabilities.
Position Requirements:
• Experience in a broad range of information security disciplines
• Application development background in C++ and Java.
• Strong knowledge of database environments specifically Oracle
• Experience with Microsoft Windows platform and Linux.
• Thorough understanding of web server security on Apache and Tomcat
• Strong working knowledge of automated security tools such as AppScan, Fortify
• Ability to complete assigned work on time and to specifications
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively/efficiently with little direct supervision
• Mature and confident personality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelors degree in computer science or 5 years security experience
