Hello,
I am an instrumented-rated private pilot and have a flying trip planned to the San Francisco Bay Area during Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26. I have two seats available for additional passengers, so if anyone wants to jump on board for the ride, please let me know.
Here are the details:
We'll leave Friday afternoon May 23rd as soon as we can all gather at Montgomery Field airport. (Saturday morning departure is also an option.) The flight time to Oakland International is about 3.5 hours. Once there, you can take the BART to wherever you need to go, or have someone pick you up at Oakland airport. My girlfriend and I are planning to spend the weekend based in or near Little Italy. I'm presuming that you will be heading off to spend the weekend doing your own thing or visiting friends or family you might have in the area. However, nothing says we can't also all get together at some point during the weekend. We'll return to San Diego Monday evening May 26th.
The only recompense I will ask for the flight is an equal fuel share, which will be about $100 per person for the round trip. I pay my share too, and am not making any money on this.
For those who may be concerned about flying in a small plane: I am an instrument-rated private pilot with over a thousand hours of flight experience, and have owned and maintained the same Cessna 177 aircraft for over a decade. I've done this Bay Area trip at least a dozen times over the years. Rest assured that you will be safer in the skies than you would be on the highways!
Anyone with interest or questions, lemme know ...
Cheers,
-- Mike
