Quality photography is our best tool to tell the YMCA story and vital to our organizations fund-raising efforts. This is an unpaid internship that will provide valuable experience, professional portfolio pieces and an opportunity to network within our community. Project Description:
The YMCA of San Diego County Corporate Office is looking for a qualified photography intern. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual to gain hands on professional photography experience. Our photography needs range from art directed shoots to event and sports photography. We are looking for a self starter who can work with or without a shot list in various locations. We will provide a camera unless the student prefers to use their own equipment. We will reimburse travel expenses and provide any other needed materials. This intern will also be provided with samples incorporating their photos, given appropriate credits, and future professional references.
The intern will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Production Manager with a variety of projects which include:
Special Event Photography
Managing Online Photo Database
Securing Photo Releases
Special Project Photography
Expanding Online Photo Database
Skill Requirements (Skills, knowledge and abilities)
Digital Photography (Nikon D40)
Photography Portfolio Available for Review
Attention to Detail
Highly Motivated and a Positive Attitude
Photoshop Software (CS3)
Ability to Travel to Various Locations
Comfortable Working Alone and with Supervision
Understanding of Color and Composition
Understanding of Photography for Print and Electronic Media
Creative and Flexible
Ability to Adhere to Strict Deadlines
Ability to Help Set-Up and Strike Events
