Our Goals
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, buth whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Proverbs 14:31
Our Goals
1. To offer affordable housing where people experience a therapeutic environment that allows them to work on areas of personal growth and maintain a clean and sober lifestyle.
In order for this goal to be accomplished we need funding to rent and/or buy, as well as completely furnish homes in decent neighborhoods. Management would strive to meet or exceed the standards of the neighborhood as far as cleanliness, appearance, and appropriate behaviors are concerned.
There needs to be trained and competent staff to help with managing these homes. The expectation is that those in leadership roles would receive a stipend for their service.
Professional services would be offered by licensed therapists and ordained ministers to ensure the highest quality of care for those we serve. It is possible that interns under supervision by licensed professionals would participate in offering clinical services. Moreover, mature Christian believers will continue to teach the Bible, help to manage recovery programs, and implement structure for community living.
2. To provide Christian based Bible studies at the home for those not willing or unable to be involved in their local church.
We have a need for Christian based materials that are consistent with the essentials of the Christian faith.
Worship music is needed to equip the leadership to effectively create an atmosphere of worship.
We are currently offering Christian based recovery meetings twice a week and daily prayer and Bible study/devotions.
3. To continue developing a professional network of care providers and resources to meet the needs of those we serve.
4. To make local churches aware of Compassionate Ministries—Professional Payee Services, Inc. to ensure open communication, mutual encouragement, and networking among the members of the body of Christ.
5. To develop a professional relationship with our donors that is transparent and ongoing for years to come.
Compassion Ministries—Professional Payee Services, Inc. is accountable to the Social Security Administration in regards to every person we serve as a representative payee. Moreover, we will strive to implement the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) Standards and Best Practices for our non-profit organization: http://www.ecfamembers.org/PDF/BestPractices.pdf
To ensure trust and avoid even the perception of impropriety, at the request of anyone in the public we are willing to discuss our budget and financial responsibilities.
We need donors that will commit to a monthly pledge to help with operating expenses. Planned giving and estate donations will ensure long-term support of Compassionate Ministries-PPS and its programs.
There are professional tax persons on our Board of Directors who are willing to volunteer their time to ensure our books are balanced.
