A leading provider since 1960 we are currently recruiting for an On-Call Food Service Worker to join our dedicated, top rated team. We are centrally located in Bankers Hill in walking distance to Balboa Park, minutes from the Embarcadero, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and easy access to I-5, 163 and 8.

Under the Supervision of the department supervisor you would be covering vacancies created by vacations, staff absences or position openings. You would assist the department supervisor of the assigned facility in its daily operation.

Skills/ Requirements
•Maintains Food Safety in all aspects with regard to all HACCP Guidelines.
•Duties could include but are not limited to hot and cold food preparation, food presentation, serving on tray line or on the buffet
•You would perform all duties associated with the dishwashing, store room, and diet aide positions.
•Maintains that work areas are neat, clean and safe.
•Ensure that all Residents are served in a courteous, efficient and effective manner.
•Ensures that Residents and customer needs and desires are met quickly and appropriately.
•Documents on the HACCP Logs, records temperatures, taste panels and times of meals served.
•Assumes responsibility for adhering to procedures for the use and control of equipment and supplies within the work area.
•Understands and works well within a Resident centered environment and acts as a role model for compassion and understanding towards the Resident for all staff, guests and families.
•Works cooperatively with Residents, supervisors, co-workers, families, consultant personnel and ancillary service providers.
•Current San Diego County Food Handler Card.
•Neat in appearance with good grooming habits.
•Must be able to be tactful and courteous at all times with both Residents and employees.
•Must be able to respond to Resident's needs and expectations.
•Must demonstrate willingness and flexibility to adapt quickly to various and changing situations.
•Able to read, write, understand, and speak the English language.

Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. A minimum of one-year experience working in food production.
