The Engineer will be primarily responsible for HVAC and central plant systems design in military, corporate, commercial and light industrial facilities. This position is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging projects and learn from senior mechanical engineers with exceptional experience across a diverse range of project types.
All candidates applying for this position should have experience in performing load calculations, energy analysis, life cycle cost analysis, equipment selections, ductwork layout, and hydronic design. Additionally, candidates should have some exposure to plumbing design.

ENERGY ENGINEER
DEC Engineers, a consulting mechanical engineering firm in San Diego, has an EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY Outstanding for an Energy Engineer to provide technical analysis of existing building systems, identify potential retrofit and energy conservation measures, perform energy use and savings analysis, direct and perform engineered solutions and support design and installation efforts.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a hands-on individual who seeks a balance between analytical and report writing tasks and engineering fieldwork. If you have a strong interest in energy efficiency and a working knowledge of HVAC/lighting systems and commercial/ industrial building controls, this may be the right position for you.
You will be responsible to gather data and drawings of existing buildings to be used in the development of comfort, cost and energy use baselines. Interface with owners to identify preferences and facility goals. Work the design team to develop potential facility improvement plans and assist in the communication of technical aspects of identified strategies. Prepare energy usage and savings calculations for identified improvements utilizing computer modeling tools. Support design engineers efforts and provide engineering revisions where required.
CEM, BSME, EIT or PE certification a plus. Advanced knowledge of construction, energy conservation, design, applicable Codes, standards, etc is required. Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems is essential.
