Position Summary
We are seeking a part-time Senior Industrial Engineer who is interested in assisting us with project work at our El Cajon and Oceanside facilities. In this role, you will plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel to improve efficiency of operations; establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization; analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of operations and equipment; recommend methods for improving operational efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities; and confer with management, operations and engineering staffs to implement plans and recommendations.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
• BS degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field of engineering.
• 15 or more years of relevant industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in the implementation of Lean.
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Strong project and task management skills that include the ability to plan, prioritize, organize, gather facts, prepare schedules, document procedures and processes, and exercise sound judgment in decision making.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interfaces with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to train and instruct others.
