Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) is an intense behavioral modification program designed to teach children and adolescents new behavioral interventions and strategies to better manage the severe behaviors they display within their placement. TBS is a program contracted through the county of San Diego and is therefore assigned referrals by the county of San Diego TBS program, whom also closely monitors our program. The clients that are referred to TBS are either at-risk for losing their placement to a higher level of care or being hospitalized as a result of the severity of their behaviors. TBS provides coaching and case management to these clients due to the severity of their behaviors. Based on a residential model, TBS provides services 365 days with the exception of when clients are in school, in juvenile hall or hospitalized.
We are currently seeking Spanish speaking behavioral coaches. The behavioral coach position carries a flexible part-time schedule, with the potential to gain full-time hours, based on the employee's availability to work. Coaches are responsible for following a treatment plan created by one of 6 full-time case managers. Coaches implement the behavioral interventions and strategies with the client and caregiver/staff. The coach reports progress and/or concerns to the case manager as well as discusses progress in bi-weekly treatment team meetings, which include the coach, the client, the TBS case manager, the client's therapist, the client's caregiver and any other significant team members. Every Thursday, on a rotating basis, TBS provides either a case consultation with feedback from our clinical psychologist, training or an opportunity to meet one-on-one with our clinical psychologist to discuss a particularly difficult case/client.
