Shots For Spays - Free Vaccination for Fixing Your Pet! (all of San Diego)

Shots For Spays is part of a community effort to reduce cat and dog overpopulation and promote spay/neuter education.

We believe that animal overpopulation can be combated through spay/neuter incentive programs, and that affordable pet care is available to everyone.

How It Works
1) Shots For Spays will provide assistance administering a vaccine to your cat or dog.
2) You as the owner have your pet fixed within three weeks (we provide low cost spay/neuter referrals).
3) After confirming your pet has been fixed, we assist you with administering a booster vaccine to your pet.

Shots For Spays provides its vaccines and services gratuitously (free of charge), though donations are appreciated!

WE NEED A JAMES BROWN

Hey there, I'm a regular gigging upright bass player with a couple other really talented musicians interested in getting a James Brown project going. We got you covered on the rhythm section, we'll lay down all those funky grooves for you but we still need the star. First off we don't give a damn if you look like James Brown at all... what we do care about is that you can sing these demanding parts with that same fearless commitment. We need you to sing, squeal, dance, shake, sweat, and be that Sex Machine.

We are all full time or part time musicians so this would definitely not be the band for beginners (unless you really are that good). We expect this to have an initial period of fine tuning all the music and then this will be a well paying band. We're looking to hit up venues, private parties, festivals, etc... so the willingness to travel in the near future would be a definite plus. So if you really got what it takes to step into JB's shoes drop me a line, shoot me your samples or vids, and we'll go from there, cheers!

P.S. Still looking for a sax player as well

Opportunity of a lifetime **are you a single successful male?** (San Diego and the rest of the USA)

MANZES INC. What is it? Who runs it? What plans do they have? Good questions! Better question: How can I become a part of it?

MANZES INC is an idea that was started originally by two friends almost one year to the day. Two best friends were hanging out and said, there has to be other guys like us. Single, cultured, mature, financially stable. We like to do all of the best things in life, eat at nice restaurants, taste the best wine, smoke the best cigars, take vacations to the best places, cruise the water on a sunny day with some ladies and enjoy the water and a couple of beers, hit the hottest clubs.

So the idea came into fruition, this guy was my right hand man, my MANZES. But I’ve met other guys like this before. Imagine what we can do, if we incorporate and create a network for guys who enjoy these things. By bringing everyone together, pooling resources we create an organization that would expand the possibilities throughout the nation and the world.

First and foremost, this in NOT a network for homo-sexual oriented men. If that is your orientation that great, but NOT what MANZES INC is about. I have to make this clear because some people have got the idea that this was a recruiting effort for that, and it is completely the opposite.

So what plans do we have?

First we want to put together a website explaining what we are about, complete with contact info and an application page.

Second we want to acquire a vacation ownership package that will be available to all members of MANZES INC. There will be different levels of membership, with different levels of responsibility and commitment.

Third we want to buy a mansion, the MANZES MANZION. It will be a place where some of us will live, the top men of MANZES INC. Obviously this part will require the top level of financial commitment and involvement in the organization.

The concept is a network, where you will be a member of a team, we will be based out of San Diego, but the plan is to have MANZES in all the major cities. Brothers all over the nation. In the end providing access to contacts, for jobs, connections with the best restaurants, women, hotels, condos, boats etc etc.

If this is a concept that interests you email me. Just because you like the idea, doesn’t mean your MANZES material. This is the ground floor, drop me a note and lets start building this thing.
International volunteers, with the help of local volunteers, are expected to make “water filters” and give them to the poor people. Volunteers will experience the peaceful scenery of Hanoi City and the nice Long Bien Bridge (the most historical bridge in Vietnam). Besides working, volunteers will organize some games and football matches for the local youth and children on the beach by the Red River.

Is your elected whore writing a book? (OR JUST SERVICING ILLEGALS?)

IS YOUR ELECTED WHORE BUSY, BUSY, BUSY WRITING BOOKS???

HAVE YOU NOTICED there is no amount of public contempt that seems to have an impact on our elected whores?

The polls are at the bottom, and they’re still in the back room turning tricks for BIG BUSH SAUDI OIL, BIG AGRI BIZ, BIG BANKS, BIG INSURANCE, BIG DRUG, and of course the U.S. taxpayer financed front for Mexico’s massive U.S. welfare system, LA RAZA.

Here’s why:

Being a politician is simple. Here’s what it takes:

You’re a two-bit actress.

You’d sell out your state and country for any special interest that will sully their hands by sticking a few bucks down your filthy panties.

You’ll protect the worst most incompetent president in U.S. history, GEORGE W BUSH.

You’ll bust your fat ass to keep floods and floods and floods of illiterate, pregnant and frequently criminal Mexicans flooding our borders to depress wages for BIG BIZ.

And then you’ll go write a fucking book!

That’s because life for an elected whore is none too difficult. You got plenty of time on your hands. The people pay an outrageious salary, and as for the illegals, your medical costs and if you’re really filthy and have a good pimp, you’ll live in mansions.

Case in point is DIANNE FEINSTEIN. This old whore has used her elected office to benefit her pimp-husband to such an extent she’s acquired more than $50 million in mansions while in elected office by selling us out.

She’s in bed with the Chinese dictators, La Raza, Big Banks that caused the sub-prime, Big Utility Monopolies, and of course she’s the biggest war profiteer in U.S. history! That’s her payment from the Bush-Saudi war machine for agreeing to vote NO on impeachment.

Barbara Boxer is Feinstein’s pathetic sidekick. She’s never once gotten a bill through Congress. She spends her time following the old whore around, taking bribes from Feinstein’s pimp, Richard C. Blum, as do Clinton, Kennedy, Kerry, and of course the other war monger, Joe Liberman.

Boxer keeps her Senate whore’s office by making sure we import mucho Indians and Chinese to take all our high-tech jobs. High-tech loves whore Boxer. Then she follows La Raza’s instructions and votes for anything to flood Mexifornia with more illegals. No English, No problem. Vote for Hillary, NO ID. And bit by bit amnesty.

Boxer such a joke she spends her time writing books (go to Amazon). For her last book she went on a 22 city tour. Now she’s writing a second one. Well, actually she’s not writing anything. Whores don’t really do anything but sell out their constituents. A ghost writer is doing the real work. Boxer takes a break from the drudgery of writing books and planning book tours and collects massive amounts of special interests money she channels back to herself through her son, Douglas Boxer. He’s her so called “consultant” and is paid with Boxer’s corporate bribes massive amounts to “consult”. About what? Book tours? The needs of the Mexican fascist party of La Raza? How to protect George W. Bush from impeachment and make a few bucks???

Nancy Pelosi is as corrupt as any old whore can be. For decades she’s illegally hired illegals with stolen social security numbers for her $20 million dollar winery in Napa. She works here and there, you know, for NO WALL WITH NARCO-MEX, AMNESTY, and whatever agenda put forth by Big Biz. She’s also writing a crap book!

Harry Reid is the biggest pussy in the Senate. One more La Raza lap dog. He’s such a fucking lap dog for the invasion party that they give him parties! Harry Reid went to Congress and got the Mexican fascist party of La Raza an additional $5 million in your tax money so they can work to defeat our sovereignty. Reid’s state of Nevada is now 25% illegal and next to California has the highest rate of foreclosures.

Harry Reid has plenty of time, like the other whores, to write books, because for all these clowns, being in Congress is only a part time job!

Barack Obama has a book. He spent so much time writing it that when he came to Los Angeles the only thing that could come out of his big mouth was AMNESTY! AMNESTY! AMNESTY! for Mexican occupied Los Angeles. As if the fucking illegals needed amnesty. They have 47% of the jobs in Los Angeles, collect $40 million in welfare PER MONTH, and get so much “free medical” that hospitals in California are bankrupted! And then there’s the fun of Mexican drug gangs that have murdered 1000 people per year.

And not a word from Obama, the author, about Mexican gangs “ethnically cleansing” their drug markets by murdering ethnic legals. To get the illegals’s illegal vote you have to keep your big mouth shut about the staggering crime wave that the Mexicans bring with them. It’s only next to the staggering crime wave by Wall St. in magnitude!

AND YOU’RE PAYING THE PRICE FOR THEIR CORRUPTION! If you’re being foreclosed on, getting your ass picked by Big Banks, Big Insurance, Big Drugs, Big Utility Monopolies, it’s because these fuckers are so bought by the interests they’re now walking around, like Hillary Clinton, with taco crumbs falling out of their big fat fucking mouths!
May 04, 2007Speak No Evil
Dan Abbett
It seems that Democrats have little problem condemning anything or anyone that publicly challenges their position on the issues. Liberal columnist David Broder wrote in a recent article in the Washington Post, that he believed that the Democratic Party could do better than Harry Reid as their leader. He is now being excoriated by Democrat Senators for exercising his first amendment rights. You see, you can be as foul, degrading and demeaning as wish when destroying the personal reputations of conservatives, but thou shalt not speak evil of the left.

FEINSTEIN’S CORRUPTION EXPOSED................................................

Former Congressman, Duke Cunningham, R-CA, now resides in a federal prison for bribery and influence peddling. Investigation into conflict of interest allegations that Sen. Feinstein, D-CA, channeled millions of dollars to her husband’s company when she sat on a Senate Appropriations subcommittee, has netted her chairmanship of the Senate Ethics committee. Investigations into the activities of Republican Congressman Rick Renzi on corruption charges proceed on track; the eighteen-month investigation of Democrat Congressman William Jefferson’s bribery charges remains in limbo.

Democrat Senators can compare our troops to Nazis and the detention of enemy prisoners with the regime of Pol Pot. They can declare that they terrorize Iraqi women and children in the dead of night; but question Nancy Pelosi’s judgment in engaging the leader of a state sponsor of terrorism and it is an attack on her patriotism.

Observation of liberal behavior leads one to conclude that regardless of the severity of their actions or behavior, the fact that they practice liberal politics renders them exempt from criticism. The rest of us not only need to tow the line, should we deviate from their politically correct dictates, we face the plank, the deep six, an invitation to visit Davy Jones’ Locker. We must no longer accept this dual universe, ruled by the Munchkins and Lilliputians of Liberal La-La Land.

Democrats are getting away with behaving as schoolyard bullies, bragging about stealing our lunch money. It is long past time to kick them squarely in the (insert your word here _________). The disparity in reactions and resulting punishments meted out for a conservative faux pas, as compared to that of a liberal, must no longer be tolerated. This is not about getting mad nor about getting even, it is about getting off our butts and dealing with the tantrums of our spoiled rotten liberal problem child.

So let the liberal attack hordes raise their paper swords of verbal destruction and charge, screaming battle cries of politically correct insinuations of insult. We must not retreat from this one-sided assault on our personal values and ideals. Let them charge in fury and rage as they blindly follow us into our trap. We will have led them to do battle in the confines of the arena of ideas. They have no defense for logic, facts or actions born of rational thinking. It is not evil to speak freely.
LATEST FLAP OVER MEDICARE PAYMENT DENIALS
By David Whitney
McClatchy Newspapers
San Jose Mercury News
Article Launched:05/19/2007 01:36:54 AM PDT
WASHINGTON - California lawmakers are questioning whether an auditing company in which San Francisco investor Richard Blum, the husband of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, has a major financial stake is rejecting Medicare claims at California rehabilitation hospitals in order to reap millions of dollars in profits at the expense of patient care.
The company, PRG-Schultz International, has a contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the overseer of the Medicare program, to check payments in California for mistakes. Its only pay is a bounty of up to 30 percent on the "overcharges" it identifies.
The California Hospital Association first raised concerns in November that PRG-Schultz was targeting rehabilitation hospitals that cared for Medicare patients after knee or hip replacement surgery. The hospital association said PRG-Schultz has reviewed thousands of cases dating as far back as 2002 and has rejected nearly all as medically unnecessary.
Melinda Staveley, president of the 38-bed Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara, said more than 100 such cases from her non-profit institution had been rejected. The facility could face having to repay more than $2 million.
Elderly patients
As difficult as that would be financially for a small hospital with a $12 million annual budget, she said the bigger concern is future patient care. The frail and elderly surgery patients with compound medical problems no longer will have access to rehabilitation hospitals and will have to rely on home or outpatient services.
"This is devastating," Staveley said of the audits.
Her husband's business interests in PRG-Schultz have proved awkward for Feinstein, the state's Democratic senior senator, as the hospital association turns to Congress for relief.
This is not the first time Blum's business interests have collided with his wife's job. Blum Capital Partners is a major investor in Northwest Airlines, which in 1995 won the first contract by an American air carrier to fly to Beijing. Feinstein had been friends with a former Chinese political leader since she was mayor of San Francisco.
More recently, concerns have been raised in Republican circles about some of Blum's investments benefiting from defense contracts at a time when the senator was serving on the Senate military construction appropriations committee.
Feinstein's press aide, Scott Gerber, said the senator played no role in the legislation creating the auditing program and did not intervene with program administrators to help PRG-Schultz get the three-year contract in 2005.
Serious concerns
On Thursday, after questions from McClatchy Newspapers, Feinstein sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that called the hospital association's concerns "potentially serious." She asked program administrators to investigate, saying the concerns are spreading beyond its determinations on rehabilitation hospitals to other aspects of Medicare-financed hospitalizations for the elderly, including short-stay hospital admissions.
Feinstein made no mention of her husband's interest in PRG-Schultz, which she lists in her annual financial disclosure reports. According to PRG-Schultz, Blum's investment companies own 10.5 percent of its outstanding common stock, 53 percent of its outstanding preferred stock and 28 percent of its notes and securities.
California House members soon will follow with a joint letter of their own asking for an investigation.
Rep. Lois Capps, D-Santa Barbara, is taking the lead among Democrats. Her press aide, Emily Kryder, said 15 members - more than a quarter of the state's congressional delegation - have agreed to sign the letter so far.
"The review and collection practices of PRG-Schultz threaten access to rehabilitation services in California," the letter said. "We urge you to examine the actions taken by PRG-Schultz International, Inc."
The auditing program was set up as a demonstration project initially focusing on the three highest-cost Medicare states - California, New York and Florida. Separate contractors are used for each state. PRG-Schultz is the only for-profit contractor among them, and Medicare administrators believe it has been the most controversial because it alone has been zeroing in on rehabilitation hospitals.
Highly lucrative
On the brink of financial collapse when it won the contract two years ago, PRG-Schultz has found the job to be enormously lucrative. Government figures indicate that it had rejected $105 million in California Medicare overcharges as of Sept. 30, the end of the 2006 fiscal year.
Medicare managers said they could not release figures for how much PRG-Schultz was claiming as commissions for finding the alleged overcharges, saying the information was proprietary. But based on bounties of 28 percent that were used in establishing the program, PRG-Schultz's entitlement could be as much as $29 million.
The California Hospital Association said in a letter to Medicare administrators in November that PRG-Schultz should be suspended for improperly applying Medicare rules and using unqualified personnel.
PRG-Schultz declined to comment. But officials of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services steadfastly defended PRG-Schultz, saying it's applying rules on medically necessary admissions that probably have been ignored in California for years.
PRG-Schultz "coming to town is probably the first real look at these hospitals in many, many years," said Melanie Combs, senior technical adviser for the federal program.
"These rules have been on the books since 1985," Combs said. "Maybe it's possible some have been overlooking them. Maybe there have been consultants out there helping hospitals to, quote, maximize reimbursements. And maybe perhaps some of that has entailed looking the other way."
A call to Blum Capital Partners - of which Blum is board chairman - asking for comment was not returned.
PRG-Schultz reported a first-quarter profit this year of $1.5 million, compared to a $10 million loss for the same period in 2006.
Feinstein under fire over defense ties
HUSBAND HAS PROFITED FROM PENTAGON CONTRACTS
By Michael Doyle
McClatchy Washington Bureau
San Jose Mercury News
Article Launched:04/15/2007 01:31:07 AM PDTWASHINGTON - Bloggers and activists are writing a new chapter in the marriage between Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein and husband Richard Blum.
Feinstein has real power. Blum has serious money. For 27 married years, the politician and the investor have excelled professionally while facing periodic queries about Blum's far-flung investments.
The latest round now comes powered by the Internet, fanned by activists on both right and left. The partisans find common cause in questioning Feinstein's role in Pentagon spending while Blum was investing in defense firms.
Critics have accused Feinstein of having a conflict of interest by serving through last year as chair and ranking member of the Senate's military construction appropriations subcommittee at the same time that her husband had financial interests in two firms that rely on defense contracts.
The Senate panel approves about $16 billion annually for military construction projects.
Until 2005, Blum had major holdings in two firms, URS Corp. and Perini Corp., that rely on defense contracts.
Perini received $200 million in federal contracts from 2000 to 2006, primarily with the Army, according to records compiled by the private watchdog group OMB Watch. URS received $1.8 billion worth of contracts - primarily Air Force, Army and Navy - during the same period
Feinstein's spokesman Scott Gerber declared that the senator has always "acted appropriately" and within the Senate's ethics guidelines. He sternly denounced suggestions of conflict, first raised in articles published in the Bay Area's free Metro weekly newspaper, and noted that the Pentagon, not Congress, decides who is awarded contracts.
"The story is filled with inaccuracies, errors and distortions," Gerber said, "and it has been pushed by the right-wing bloggers."
Actually, the story has migrated from left to right and back again.
Last Sunday, it was the left's turn, as female anti-war protesters gathered outside Feinstein's San Francisco home. Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin declared that Feinstein and Blum "have profited from this war" in Iraq.
On the right, the conservative group Judicial Watch announced its own probe. The Washington-based group, which filed myriad lawsuits against the Clinton administration, is now preparing Freedom of Information Act requests into the URS and Perini contracts.
"We've commenced an investigation," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said.
The Metro story, cited in hundreds of blogs since, was reported by a freelance writer who received a grant from the liberal Nation magazine's investigative fund. The author, Peter Byrne, said he stands by everything he wrote.
"They haven't come up with a single fact that is in error," Byrne said of Feinstein's office.
After the Nation rejected his story last fall, Byrne said he "flogged it around to a lot of liberal publications" before getting it published in Metro. The original story goes into considerable detail; Feinstein's office has in turn prepared a detailed rebuttal.
"I find it hard to believe that the allegations are completely true since this is too obvious a conflict for a senior senator to make," University of California-Berkeley political scientist Bruce Cain said.
Blum and Feinstein have weathered past episodes that included questions about Blum's investments in China. Blum has always maintained that he has conducted his businesses properly. Last year, in meeting the Senate's financial disclosure requirements, Feinstein needed 148 pages to detail the family's assets. Feinstein is one of the Senate's wealthiest members, with assets in 2005 valued from $45 million to $105 million.
She sought "the advice of the Senate Ethics Committee on her own initiative about whether conflicts existed - and (is) following that guidance," Gerber said. "That guidance indicated that, given the facts, Senator Feinstein could fully consider, debate, and vote on appropriations bills, whether in the subcommittee, committee or full Senate."
The Metro stories also contended that Feinstein had "resigned" from the military construction subcommittee, suggesting she departed under pressure.
Senate Appropriations Committee spokesman Tom Gavin replied Thursday that seven other lawmakers had also flipped appropriations subcommittees this year.
"This is a process that happens at the start of every Congress," Gavin said.
Feinstein left the military panel to chair the subcommittee that handles the Forest Service, the National Park Service and other agencies crucial to California.
"Frankly, for California, it's a better opportunity for the senator, and she took it," Gerber said, adding that the claim that Feinstein had resigned from the military subcommittee was "just not true."
Ethics Fencing in the Senate
The Senate’s promising start in reforming its ethical shortcomings is showing signs of slippage. Senators ducked a worthy amendment that would bar members from putting family members on campaign payrolls, or see kin become lobbyists. The proposal was ruled unrelated to the debate over lobbyist and ethics reforms, which is hardly the case.
Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, insisted that there’s no such problem in the Senate. Critics instantly noted that her fellow Californian, Senator Barbara Boxer, paid $130,000 from her campaign funds to her son’s political consultant firm. In the House, the campaign kitty of Representative John Doolittle, Republican of California, paid $200,000 to his wife as a designated campaign consultant working at home. Congress’s reputation cannot afford more such embarrassments.
Hillary Clinton Leads Judicial Watch Ten Most Corrupt Politicians in 2007
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Jim Kouri
Jan 10, 2008

The maverick attorneys at Judicial Watch, a public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, recently released their list of Washington DC's “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians of 2007.” The list being circulated in alphabetical order includes several presidential candidates such as Hillary Clinton, Rudy Guiliani and Barack Obama. The list also includes leaders from both major political parties.

Hillary Clinton Leads Judicial Watch Ten Most Corrupt Politicians in 2007 (Image: Wenn)

Number one is Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY): In addition to her long and sordid ethics record, Senator Hillary Clinton took a lot of heat in 2007 -- and rightly so -- for blocking the release her official White House records. Many suspect these records contain a treasure trove of information related to her role in a number of serious Clinton-era scandals. Moreover, in March 2007, Judicial Watch filed an ethics complaint against Senator Clinton for filing false financial disclosure forms with the U.S. Senate (again). And Hillary’s top campaign contributor, Norman Hsu, was exposed as a felon and a fugitive from justice in 2007. Hsu pleaded guilt to one count of grand theft for defrauding investors as part of a multi-million dollar Ponzi scheme.

2. Rep. John Conyers (D-MI): Judicial Watch accuses Conyers of repeatedly violating the law and House ethics rules, forcing his staff to serve as his personal servants, babysitters, valets and campaign workers while on the government payroll. While the House Ethics Committee investigated these allegations in 2006, and substantiated a number of the accusations against Conyers, the committee blamed the staff and required additional administrative record-keeping and employee training. Judicial Watch obtained documentation in 2007 from a former Conyers staffer that sheds new light on the activities and conduct on the part of the Michigan congressman, which appear to be at a minimum inappropriate and likely unlawful. Judicial Watch called on the Attorney General in 2007 to investigate the matter.

3. Senator Larry Craig (R-ID): In one of the most shocking scandals of 2007, Senator Craig was caught by police attempting to solicit sex in a Minneapolis International Airport men’s bathroom during the summer. Senator Craig reportedly “sent signals” to a police officer in an adjacent stall that he wanted to engage in sexual activity. When the police officer showed Craig his police identification under the bathroom stall divider and pointed toward the exit, the senator reportedly exclaimed 'No!'” When asked to produce identification, Craig presented police his U.S. Senate business card and said, “What do you think of that?” The power play didn’t work. Craig was arrested, charged and entered a guilty plea. Despite enormous pressure from his Republican colleagues to resign from the Senate, Craig refused.

4. Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA): As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee's subcommittee on military construction, Feinstein reviewed military construction government contracts, some of which were ultimately awarded to URS Corporation and Perini, companies then owned by Feinstein's husband, Richard Blum. While the Pentagon ultimately awards military contracts, there is a reason for the review process. The Senate's subcommittee on Military Construction's approval carries weight. Sen. Feinstein, therefore, likely had influence over the decision making process. Senator Feinstein also attempted to undermine ethics reform in 2007, arguing in favor of a perk that allows members of Congress to book multiple airline flights and then cancel them without financial penalty. Judicial Watch’s investigation into this matter is ongoing.

5. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R-NY): Giuliani came under fire in late 2007 after it was discovered the former New York mayor’s office “billed obscure city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses amassed during the time when he was beginning an extramarital relationship with future wife Judith Nathan in the Hamptons…” ABC News also reported that Giuliani provided Nathan with a police vehicle and a city driver at taxpayer expense. All of this news came on the heels of the federal indictment on corruption charges of Giuliani’s former Police Chief and business partner Bernard Kerik, who pleaded guilty in 2006 to accepting a $165,000 bribe in the form of renovations to his Bronx apartment from a construction company attempting to land city contracts.

6. Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): Governor Huckabee enjoyed a meteoric rise in the polls in December 2007, which prompted a more thorough review of his ethics record. According to The Associated Press: “[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office.” And what was Governor Huckabee’s response to these ethics allegations? Rather than cooperating with investigators, Huckabee sued the state ethics commission twice and attempted to shut the ethics process down.

7. I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby: Libby, former Chief of Staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, was sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined $250,000 for lying and obstructing the Valerie Plame CIA leak investigation.

8. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): A “Dishonorable Mention” last year, Senator Obama moves onto the “ten most wanted” list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.

9. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who promised a new era of ethics enforcement in the House of Representatives, snuck a $25 million gift to her husband, Paul Pelosi, in a $15 billion Water Resources Development Act recently passed by Congress. The pet project involved renovating ports in Speaker Pelosi's home base of San Francisco. Pelosi just happens to own apartment buildings near the areas targeted for improvement, and will almost certainly experience a significant boost in property value as a result of Pelosi's earmark. Earlier in the year, Pelosi found herself in hot water for demanding access to a luxury Air Force jet to ferry the Speaker and her entourage back and forth from San Francisco non-stop, in unprecedented request which was wisely rejected by the Pentagon. And under Pelosi’s leadership, the House ethics process remains essentially shut down – which protects members in both parties from accountability.

10. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV): Over the last few years, Reid has been embroiled in a series of scandals that cast serious doubt on his credibility as a self-professed champion of government ethics, and 2007 was no different. According to The Los Angeles Times, over the last four years, Reid has used his influence in Washington to help a developer, Havey Whittemore, clear obstacles for a profitable real estate deal. As the project advanced, the Times reported, “Reid received tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Whittemore.” Whittemore also hired one of Reid’s sons (Leif) as his personal lawyer and then promptly handed the junior Reid the responsibility of negotiating the real estate deal with federal officials. Leif Reid even called his father’s office to talk about how to obtain the proper EPA permits, a clear conflict of interest.
