Attention Men's Softball players:

My name is Drew. I currently play on a few Carlsbad league men's softball teams. For the past few years, I have been organizing men's pickup games on Sundays. I am going to be getting the pickup games going again during this off season and I wanted to extend an invitation to all of you.

If you manage a softball team, please extend my invite to the rest of your players. I'd appreciate your help in spreading the word about the games.

Who Plays: Men of all ability levels are invited! It's a great place to keep your abilities fresh during the off-season and meet many different players and coaches.

When: We play every Sunday unless it rains or happens to be a holiday. I think our first week will be on Sunday Nov 21st.

Where: Games can be anywhere in Carlsbad or Oceanside. We call ahead during the week to make sure the field we want isn't reserved.

Time: We usually start somewhere between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon. I try to make sure the game times don't conflict with Charger games. Go Bolts!

Equipment: I have my own pro level bases, and we bring those every week. All bats are legal, and there will always be plenty of bats to use if you don't own one. Please bring your own glove.

Rules: We play ASA style rules.

Cost: $1.00 per person. If everyone pitches in $1, we can bring four brand new softballs a week to use in the games.

How do I signup: I send out an email blast w/ the weekly game info on wednesday's or thursday's every week. To be added to the email list, simply send me an email saying you'd like to play with us on Sundays.

Hi! thanks for visiting my post. Alittle about myself, I am a college student who has been playing tennis for the past 4 and a half years. I live near La Jolla and was hoping to teach around the University City / La Jolla area. I do have reliable transportation so driving any reasonable distance will not be a problem however I will calculate exactly how must it costs for me to drive to your location and that will be added onto the total cost.

This is great for students looking to practice in the off season, or if they are looking to join a team next year but have no prior expirience. I can teach kids but 10 and up in preferred.
If you are looking for more of a workout expirience, I am studying fitness so I can definatly throw in some cardio and make it a fun whole body workout.

If you are an adult looking to take my lessons, I will only teach women. non-negotiable, and its for my own safety.

I'm looking for anyone, male or female, who want to play pick-up rugby games in a non-formal fun way! I looked into playing for the San Diego team but their dues are too expensive and travel too much and too far. If we can't get enough people we could at least play 7's or even 5on5. I know plenty of drills and it would be great to just be out there throwing a ball around again and practicing some tackling. I've coached other sports before and am willing to teach anyone who's just interested in coming out and finding out what rugby is all about. Let me know if you're at all interested and as I get more responses I'll send out more details. Depending on where people are coming from is where we can practice, not necessarily Spring Valley. That's just where I live.

It's November. I turned 38 today, and I try to manage and keep that weight before my birthday.
Yeah, the predictable one about getting in shape and tackling that post-baby muffin top flop.
With all that in mind, I took my first Zumba class yesterday.

Zumba is probably the most fun you can have with your clothes on, especially if you're a Mom who doesn't go out dancing much anymore. What could be better than hopping around to fast, loud, Latin pop music and disco? The unbelievably sculpted, tanned, well-endowed teacher has you working on moves such as "the body roll," the mystifying "rib shake" and of course, hip wiggles and pelvic thrusts with some complicated little samba steps thrown in for spice. All while sweating profusely and laughing at yourself. At least I laughed at myself. My fellow Zumb-ers seemed to take it more seriously. Many of them have become expert in the moves and a lucky few now get called up on the platform to lead the class with the teacher.

As a first timer, my goals were more modest.
a) Do not fall down and b) Minimize the number of times I was facing the back wall while everyone else faced front. At least I met one of those goals.

On a more positive note, there were moments when it all came together. For one whole song, I felt like I could keep up ("Yep, I'm facing front and so is everyone else!"). It even brought up a funny memory from my pre-kids life.

Fun exercise group for women only! (Mira Mesa)

I'm putting together a group of women to start working out with me at the Miramar College field (the location will change sometimes), Mon-Wed-Fridays for 1 hour (5p - 6p OR 5.30p - 6.30p OR 6p - 7p). The Group's first meeting will be on November 16th at 6pm.

This group is for women like me who get lazy with gym equipments and need something more fun and continuous with other peers to loose weight and keep fit. Sometimes diets are hard to keep up but by keeping our body's metabolism active and going, we can maintain our weight and loose weight; especially if it's fun to do.

It would be fun: lots of competitive group sprint races (most peeps like me don't like jogging much), tag football, basketball, handball, soccer, group dancing for cardio, bootcamp, group cycling & walking around Mira Mesa e.t.c There will be prize earnings as well. Everyone (assuming you're not shy) will get to lead group dance routines and bootcamp moves.

This will be a lot of fun!!! Women only!!!

Email me if you'd like to join this group, as soon as you decide. Only 20 women will be in the group for now and there are only 8 spots left.

The groups' first meeting will be on November 16th. Please email me before this date so i know if you're interested and include your email when sending out the first meet email. Also, if you have a friend who wants to join, include her name in your email as well as her email too Or she can email me directly.

Things you might need for the group workouts: Regular workout shoes(able to run track on grass and dance too), Soccer shoes, Red and Blue T-shirts

Note: You don't need to know how to play football, soccer, handball etc. We'd learn the basics of each game and REMEMBER it's all for fun but mostly to keep us running around and burning energy and building stamina and last HAVING FUNNNN burning those calories.

Dear 55+ Baseball Player:

Thank you for your interest in our 55+ Division of the North (San Diego) County Men�s Senior Baseball League. We are a �Family� of more than 100 �Wood Bat� ball players on several teams competing in both Recreational and Competitive Divisions. We like to say we have a home for every player over 55 years, and every level of skill and experience. Our players travel from as far away as: Orange County�s Fountain Valley, Riverside County�s Corona and San Diego�s Spring Valley to play on high school diamonds in North San Diego County. Our season runs from early March into October each year during which each team plays a 15 game Spring/Summer (Mar-July) Season and another 10 game Summer/Fall (July-Oct) Season, plus �The Playoffs�!. All of our games are played on Saturday at high schools and community colleges in North San Diego County. Here is our League website: http://www.northcountymsbl.com/

After our League season ends in October, many of our players then go on to play National Level Tournament Ball in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Florida, usually at the MLB Spring Training Complexes in these cities, into late November. And many of our players have won World Series Championships with and against the best: 55+, 60+, and 65+ players and teams in the nation. For example, in 2009 our 55+ Division will send two 70+ teams to the first ever 70+ World Series Tournament in Phoenix. And two 65+ teams were sent to the World Series in Phoenix for the past several years, one of which won that tournament 2 of the last 3 years

There are two well-attended open practices (and tryouts) each week year round (except holidays) that round out the regularly organized activities of our Division. Approximately 10-15 players show up at Rancho Bernardo�s Community Center (W Bernardo Dr, S of Pomerado & W of I-15) Pony League field, each Tuesday morning at 9 AM. Another 18-23 players show up at Point Loma�s Bill Cleator Park (Nimitz at Famosa/Catalina) Pony League field, each Thursday morning at 9 AM. Practices are open to �All Comers�, but most of the participants are retired so the older 55+ players (many 70�s, and even into the 80�s) seem to out number the 55-60 year old �kids�. �Tryouts� are conducted on an �ad hoc� basis and are very �user friendly�. Most of us started slow when we first �gave it a go�, after not playing for many years (and some had never played before), so we encourage all who want to join in, regardless of age, conditioning or skill level!

You are cordially invited to join us anytime at the practices. Just show up ready to enjoy playing the game we all love! Or, please contact us by phone or email if you would like to join a team at either level. The contact information of all the 55+ Division managers is also given below, if you know of a team that you would like to contact directly. New to Town? Looking to meet new some new people? Love playing sports and Socializing? You need to check out The Secret Squirrel Society. We host co-ed pick-up games in six different sports. These are weekly events that our open to anymore 18 and over (which the exception of Kickball).

Hosting pick-up games giving members an option to play whenever they want to, that way you don�t have to commit to a 10-15 week league. Most leagues in San Diego run around $100 and in this economy, who has that kind of money? So we give you a cheaper way to play a couple of hours of the sport you enjoy or try out a sport that you might be interested in.

All of our sports are $5/person. We provide Gatorade, Water, Ice, and cups! This is another little wrinkle that separates us from other pick up groups. We provide all equipments, so all you have to do show up with a good attitude and willing to have fun.

After each game we go out for some eats and drinks, which give�s people a chance to socialize. Our events are mostly in Central San Diego but we are looking to . Check out the list below to find out where our events are played.
