Would anyone be interested in working on/learning more about how collage can help unlock some of the secrets of your authentic self? I am a certified trainer for Sarah Ban Breathnach's "Simple Abundance Illustrated Discovery Journal" and I would love to share some of what I have learned with other women (or men). This is NOT an art class -- if you're looking for something of that nature, this isn't for you. This is more about learning about yourself and your true likes/dislikes/desires/dreams, etc. -- it's a very illuminating and fun process. While it's helpful if you've read Simple Abundance or are familiar with it, it's NOT mandatory by any means.
If anyone thinks this sounds interesting, please e-mail and we'll set aside a Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon to discuss and play. All you would need are some old magazines, scissors and glue. I'll supply the instructions/tidbits from SBB and help you interpret your work. If you have an Illustrated Discovery Journal to work in, great. If not, it's fine, you don't need one. (I don't think they're actually in print anymore; you can find them on eBay, things like that.) If you have been working in one and just have some questions, those are welcome, too.

Looking to find local activity partners neighbors who enjoy what I do. I tried setting up a Group, but maybe that was the wrong place for a post like this.

If you are married between 30 and 45 with small children, and you want to join with other local folks for endurance workouts once or twice a week, plus gun range target practice about once a month, then this sorta "fitness playgroup" is for you. It may be good for your spouse and kids too!

What is meant by `endurance workouts`? By this I generally mean run and bike, and when it is an option, swim. I ride a semi-street-outfitted mountain bike (hardtail, Armadillos, not so knobby) for workout difficulty plus sturdiness if I want to spontaneously go off-road a bit.

In PQ Penasquitos, Carmel Valley, Santa Luz, 4S Ranch, Sabre Springs, and Poway, we have some very nice natural and beautiful desert trails all around us in these world-class reserve parks and beaches. We should use them.

Favorite workout from Penasquitos at Camino Del Sur (start at Peets): 56 to Torrey Pines, lock the bike at the top then do a 3 mile beach loop run, then cycle home. 21.5 miles on bike. When feeling good and fit, done in <2:00 hours. Want some? It is boring to do it alone all the time....

I could become friends with somebody who is:

-Hoping to start into, or already deep into family life (In re: swinging singles...er...no thanks.)

-30 to 45 years of age. (Too young or old and we will have much less in common. I am 41. Yikes.)

-Able to set aside enough free time to meet regularly....but simply have not done so until now.

-Is not prone to reflexively socialist and/or anti-American ways of thinking (if just reading that last bit makes your nose crinkle, you will hate me).

-Has a sense of humor that doesn't cause inflated self-regard.

-And if you are really a real crack-shot instinctive shooter, please don't make me look bad on the Range, thanks. :)

Note: Getting together for the shoot 'em ups once per month, no need to own your own weapon. Where we go around San Diego, like ASC (gotammo.com) always provides inexpensive rentals. Which is more fun anyway, because then you get to try new iron.

Hi,

My name is Tim, and I am a soccer goalkeeper. I haven't been able to play much soccer except in pick up games lately, however those usually don't have goalkeepers so I've been getting a bit rusty. So I am looking for a game or team that is in need of a goalkeeper.

I also play Defender and Striker positions (Sometimes you gotta get out the goal and run a bit!). I live in the UC/Mira Mar area but am not against driving a bit. I work until 6PM so I am available for games after that time, however sometimes my word does require me to stay a bit late.

So if you need a goalkeeper for your game, please let me know, I would love to be a part of it!

WHEN:

Semi-Private hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 7a, 830a, 930a, 1030a, 330p, 430p, 530p, and 630p for Semi-Private Sessions. Come in half way through a session if you would like� stay a full 60 minutes and you have completed a full session. You pay for the DAY not the hour.. so come in at 7 before work and then again after work� its the same rate for the day!

This is a long shot, but I thought I'd post anyway just to see if anyone is out there. I'm just starting to learn Hsing-i, but classes are only once a week. (I take them with Alex in Morley Field.) I'd like to practice drills and Tien Gan with someone more often so that I don't forget everything. Preferably, someone who was at the La Mesa school and is better than I am.

I'm a beginner to Hsing-i but I was green & white for Tai Chi at the La Mesa school before it closed, so I do know some basic mechanics and applications.

I am short - 5'4" - so if you're too tall, it could be kind of awkward. I live in Bird Rock and there is a perfect park here to practice right by the ocean. If you're up for it, definitely email me! I'm dying to get back into this.

Friday Night Tennis (Peninsula Tennis Club, Robb Field in OB)

Intermediate and better tennis players are invited to join in on some fun singles play. Several of us who play at Peninsula often have come up with a fun tennis ladder point system which will include play from a six-game format with four rotations per night. We plan on running this ongoing drop-in league every Friday from 6:30 until 8:00 PM, beginning on July 11. Come early to find a partner for set play and then begin ladder play at 6:30. You will still have time to enjoy some Friday Night clubbing as we end fairly early--unless you find someone to continue play.

We think most players (males and females play together in one group) are 3.0-4.0+. We want this to be a lot of fun and good competition. We will add extras to our format as time goes on.

Members play free for now (quarterly memberships are cheap!) and nonmembers will have to pay $5 per night. E-mail me with you questions and I'll send you a written description of the format.
